In less than a week’s time, the 2014 Millers Oils Formula 1200 Championship will begin at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.  The dynamics of the upcoming season should prove to provide more outstanding racing.  The field is expected to be at least at large as last season, with many of the top competitors back in action.  Once again, the field will be chasing now 6 time defending champion Michael Iamundi.

A large contingent is expected to be hounding Iamundi this season, including series veterans Kevin Kapelke and Matt Garwood.  Kapelke has changed chassis, and will be hoping for a competitive season driving the #3 Kapelke Tuned BRD.  The Black Hole chassis will be taking a back seat for the season in the Kapelke camp.

Back in his #31 BRD, Garwood is looking forward for the season to kick off, “Having the opportunity to be again working with a fantastic team and amazing partners this upcoming season is very exciting.  Can’t wait to get back to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park this upcoming weekend, let the racing begin!”

The series also expects to see some new names enter into the series this year, including Giulio Palazzo. “Looking forward to incredibly close racing this year in what is one the best driver’s series in our region. Thanks in advance to everyone for all your help with what is going to be my first season in the Millers Oils F1200 Championship!”

In recent history, the Millers Oils Formula 1200 Championship has gained the reputation of being the most competitive series in Ontario regional racing.  The 2014 season is lining up to exceed expectations.  Details for the first race weekend, including complementary tickets and weekend schedule, can be found at the following link: http://www.casc.on.ca/road-racing/event/2014/bemc-spring-trophy-races
